Your files

With the exception described below, files you open with a tool stay on your device. The browser reads the file into the memory of the page, transforms it there, and writes the result to your downloads. Ketchio Tools has no server-side file-processing endpoint and receives no copy of those files. Closing or reloading the tab discards the page's working memory.

The one exception: Translate an EPUB

Every tool on this site keeps your file in the browser except one. Translate an EPUB needs a language model, so the book’s text has to leave your machine. You choose where it goes — Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, or any OpenAI-compatible endpoint you type in yourself, including one running on your own machine. The text travels from your browser straight to that endpoint under a key you supply, and the translation comes straight back. It does not pass through ketchio — there is no ketchio server for it to pass through, which is also why we could not read it even if we wanted to.

What the provider you chose does with text sent to its API is governed by its terms, not ours, and those terms differ between providers. Your API key is sent to that provider and not to Ketchio Tools. If you select the remember-settings checkbox and start a translation, the provider, model, language, optional base URL and API key are saved in this browser's local storage under ketchio.translator. Clearing that option in the tool or clearing site data removes it. If a manuscript is confidential, review the selected provider's terms first or use an endpoint running within a network you control.

Cookies and storage

Ketchio Tools sets no cookies and does not fingerprint your browser. The optional EPUB translator storage is described above. No other tool uses local or session storage. See thecookie and local storage policy for the exact setting and removal choices.

Analytics and third parties

There is no Google Analytics, tag manager, advertising pixel or social pixel. The hosting platform injects Cloudflare Web Analytics from static.cloudflareinsights.com. Cloudflare describes this product as cookie-free analytics that does not use local storage or fingerprint visitors. It provides aggregated traffic and web-performance information such as visited URLs, referrers, browser information and country-level location. The analytics request does not contain the files opened in a tool.

The site's fonts, stylesheets, images and tool code are served from ketchio.com. For every tool except Translate an EPUB, processing a file does not create a request carrying that file or its contents. The translator instead makes the direct provider requests described above. Your browser's network panel can show these connections.

Server logs

The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes standard request data such as IP address, timestamp, requested URL and user agent to deliver and protect the site. Cloudflare also receives requests made by its Web Analytics beacon. Ketchio Tools does not run a separate logging or profiling system. Cloudflare's retention, security and disclosure practices are governed by its own privacy terms.

Advertising

This site currently shows no advertising. If advertising is added in the future, this page will be updated before any ad code is deployed, naming the ad provider and describing what it collects. Ads would never change how files are processed — local processing is the point of the site, not a feature that could be traded away.

Data choices and rights

There is no Ketchio Tools account or user profile to inspect or delete. You can remove saved EPUB translator settings in the tool or through your browser's site-data controls. Questions or requests concerning data handled in operating the site can be sent to the address below. We may need enough information to understand and verify a request, but do not send a file or API key.

Children

The tools are not directed specifically to children. Ketchio Tools has no account system and does not ask for a name, age or contact details. The hosting and analytics requests described above still occur when a page is visited.
